What kind of camping options do you offer?
We have RV sites and rustic cabins for rent. We do not have any tent camping available.
How large are your campsites?
Our 30amp/water campsites are all wooded, and the shapes and sizes of the sites vary. Our 50amp/FHU sites are 25x50 and are rocked sites. While both styles of sites have enough room to relax and be comfortable, none of our sites are private. You can see and hear your neighbors at our 30amp and 50amp campsites.
I've tried calling to make a reservation but cannot get a hold of anyone, what should I do?
We are sorry we weren't able to answer the phone when you called. We are a small mom and pop business with a small crew, and we wear a lot of hats. We have a few options for you: send us a text message, fill out our reservation request form, or follow this link to our self serve reservation page to see if we have something available for the dates you are looking to camp.
What is your cancellation policy?
We do not offer refunds for payments or deposits made on any reservations. There are no refunds for no shows or early departures. Please contact us with any additional questions or concerns.
What can I expect when I arrive at Mountain Top?
We have only one entrance and exit to the park, so please pull fully into the parking lot, passed the stop sign upon your arrival so as not to block the entrance/exit. Someone will meet you to guide you to your site. The photos above show our entrance sign for you to look for, off of River Rd.
What time can I check in?
Our check in time is 2pm - 6pm. If you think you will arrive past 6pm please contact us so that we can give you detailed instructions to your site. If you are arriving after 6pm you must be comfortable parking yourself.
What time is checkout?
Checkout is by 11am. If you cannot check out by 11am, a late checkout fee will be assessed.
I want to have friends visit me at the park, how many can I invite?
In general we prefer a maximum of 6 persons per campsite, including the registered guest(s) at the campsite. If you are wanting to invite a number of friends or family that would exceed that limit, it must be approved by management prior to them arriving. Additionally all visitors to the park must be registered using our Visitor Registration Form, and visitors fees may apply depending on your site agreement.
What if I want to have friends over to my campsite from another campsite at Mountain Top?
Registered guests from another Mountain Top campsite don't count as visitors - feel free to mingle with your neighbors! Please be mindful of your noise level so that your surrounding guests may also have an enjoyable time, and so that you adhere to our rules and regulations.
Can I burn firewood I already have with me?
Mountain Top is part of the New Jersey Forestry Program - we can only allow wood from our property to be burned here. We try to price our bundles comparable to other outlets to make it fair to our guests. You can purchase bundled wood from our firewood rack in front of our main building.
If I am on a site without sewer, how do I empty my tanks?
We run a routine honey wagon service on Mondays and Thursdays (Tuesdays and Thursdays if it is a holiday weekend). Our seasonal and monthly rates have pump outs included in the pricing. If you are planning to stay for a few nights or a week, pump outs during normal business hours are $15 and include black and grey tanks. Pump outs outside of normal business hours are $25. You can use this form to let us know you need a pump out, or text us. Additionally, we have an onsite dump station free for our registered guests to use.
Where are your dumpsters located?
Behind our main building. You will have passed them on your left as you came up the driveway, before you got to our stop sign. The dumpster (on the right) and recycling bin (on the left) both have bear locks on them. You will need to flip a lever underneath the left side of the bar and then pull the bar back to lift the lid.
Waste Management is very clear about what may or may not be put into the dumpsters. Please review those lists below before throwing away anything aside from normal household trash.
Not allowed in the Trash Dumpster
Not allowed in the Recycling Dumpster
Can I ride my bike on the property?
Pedal bikes and E bikes can be ridden on the property during daylight hours.
Can I ride my ATV/motorcycle on the property?
Motorcycles may be used to enter and exit the campground, to and from your campsite. They may not be ridden around the park. We do not allow ATVs.
Can I ride my motorized scooter/golf cart on the property?
Motorized scooters and golf carts are only permitted to accommodate a person with a disability, and if that is their only means of transportation. Only the person with the disability may drive the scooter/golf cart.
When is the pool open?
The pool is open Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend, Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm - 5pm, weather permitting. The pool may also be opened by request if sufficient staff is available on site. At this time the pool is only open to our registered guests and their registered visitors. Please review our pool information here. There is a list of pool rules posted to the left of the pool gate.
Can you give me more information about your cabins for rent?
We have three wood cabins on the property. Two 1 bedroom cabins and one 2 bedroom cabin. The cabins have electric and access to water. The cabins do not have a kitchen, bathroom or sink. The cabins do not have heat or a/c. You will need to provide your own pillows, linens, toiletries, plates and eating utensils etc. The cabins are in close vicinity to our bathhouse for access to our showers and restrooms. Please follow this link for pricing and a few photos of our rustic cabins.
